“Let’s take one with all of us holding hands together,” Kaydence said after being asked which pose she’d like to do next. What a sweet and gentle soul. She may only be 5 years old, but she has the heart of a lion and loves her family BIG and displayed it beautifully for the camera. Not only does she have a sweet and gentle soul, but she is just so beautiful! Somehow, she knew to pop her little shoulder as I snapped the shots and crossed her little feet so elegantly. She was stunning!

I’m so excited to share this session I had the pleasure of taking for this sweet family!

Even though I had just met them, I felt right at home with little Jaxson and Kaydence. They reminded me so much of my two – just a tad bit younger. Kaydence is sweet and silly, loves to laugh, and loves with all she is. She loves to dress up and have on a pretty dresses and shoes. Jaxson is sweet and loves big, too, but he has a rough and wild side that must be let out in the form of running around and being a tough big boy, even when he falls. My sweet Allison always wants us to all being doing every task together, whether it’s eating, watching a movie, playing a game, going to the park, or picking her up from school. Titus Daniel can only sit still and be serious and smile for so long before he needs to let out some roars (usually Hulk or cheetah), thwips (Spider-Man throwing his webs), or shooting some bad guys and running around. And like Jaxon, we have to bribe him to come back to catch another portrait or use reverse psychology and tell him we DON’T want him to come back and give his sister a sweet kiss on her cheek. I mean, how fun is it to not do what we’re supposed to be doing sometimes? (it sure makes me giggle!)

Cathleen and Jacob were so sweet. His deep southern draw is so contagious, and the cowboy boots and his interactions with the kids made it evident that he was raised with good old fashioned southern parenting. I loved the way he loved on the kids. “That’s alright, just brush it off. Men don’t cry, we gotta be tough,” he said to Jaxson after he fell down. Cathleen is the sweetest mama. You can tell by the way Jaxson always wanted to be with his mama. You can also tell when I told them to just pretend I wasn’t even there, and she was making her sweet Kaydence smile. I loved the color scheme she chose to wear and just LOOK at her mermaid hair! I couldn’t get my hair to look like that, no matter how hard I tried!

Watching Cathleen and Jacob loving each other was so sweet. What a gift to give their children. One of the most important lessons we, as parents, get to teach our children is how to love our spouse well! Girls get to see how to love their husbands and how they should be treated by how their daddy treats their mommy. Boys get to see how to treat a woman and love her as she needs him to and learns how his wife should love and respect him.

We were so grateful to see the rain clear up and the weather warm all the way up to 70 degrees! How wonderful to get to wear flowy dresses and not have to hurry before everyone froze!

I loved getting to freeze these moments of three-year-old Jaxson and five-year-old Kaydence for them! The days and weeks may feel long when they’re young, but the years fly by. There’s nothing like looking back on who they were at this stage in their lives, reminiscing and wishing you could go back for just one day to soak up their sweet innocence, giggles, and love. I love giving that gift to my clients!
